Manila rope is made from natural fibers, and is very popular for maritime use on chemical and gasoline tanker vessels for its lack of static electricity, and in utility repair or construction as it does not melt on contact with hot wires.
Manila holds knots firmly and stretches very little. It should be handled and stored dry to avoid rot and mildew, and chemicals will cause it to deteriorate.
